ADEM certifies laboratories to perform testing of drinking water in the state. Public water systems must use these laboratories (or laboratories certified by EPA) for nearly all required monitoring. Consumers may also consider the use of a certified laboratory to test private wells.
The following link contains a current list of in-state and out-of-state certified laboratories for drinking water analysis. You should check with the lab to verify that they are currently certified before using. (Please note, these list contain both commercial laboratories that provide services to the public and water systems that have their own laboratories.)
