NOTICE OF UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK (UST) CORRECTIVE ACTION PLAN
AND REQUEST FOR COMMENTS

PUBLIC NOTICE - 201

Shelby County

CALERA BP, P.O. Box 211, Calera, Alabama is required by ADEM to implement a Corrective Action Plan for remediation of soil and/or groundwater which has resulted from a release from an underground storage tank located at Calera Garage (BP), 18th Avenue and 12th Street, Calera, Alabama.  The site is identified as Facility I.D. Number 17566-117-007088 and Incident Number UST93-02-09.  The proposed remediation methods include methods include mobile multiphase extraction events coupled with mobile air sparging.

Copies of the Corrective Action Plan for Calera Garage (BP) are available for public inspection electronically via http://adem.alabama.gov/newsEvents/publicNotices.cnt and at the following location Monday – Friday (except legal holidays), 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.  A nominal fee for copying and/or mailing may be charged.  Arrangements for copying should be made in advance.

Persons wishing to comment may do so, in writing, to the Department's named contact above within 15 days following the publication date of this notice.  Any person wishing to provide additional information regarding the Corrective Action Plan may do so.

A written request for a public meeting may also be filed within that 15-day period and must state the nature of the issues proposed to be raised in the meeting.

This notice is hereby given this 22nd day of May, 2019, by authority of the Alabama Department of Environmental Management.
