NOTICE OF JOINT PUBLIC HEARING AND PUBLIC AVAILIABILITY SESSION FOR
PROPOSED ISSUANCE OF A MAJOR SOURCE OPERATING PERMIT (MSOP) UNDER THE
ALABAMA AIR POLLUTION CONTROL ACT AND THE PROPOSED MODIFICATION OF A
MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTE LANDFILL PERMIT UNDER THE ALABAMA SOLID WASTES &
RECYCLABLE MATERIALS MANAGEMENT ACT AND REQUEST FOR COMMENTS

Notice is hereby given that ADEM will hold a Joint Public Hearing on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., in the Council Chambers room at the Uniontown City Hall located at 200 Front Street, Uniontown, AL 36786 for the proposed issuance of the following permits to Arrowhead Landfill located at 622 Tayloe Road, Uniontown, AL 36786:
Notice is also given that the Department has scheduled a Joint Public Availability Session to allow interested citizens to discuss questions regarding the proposed permits with ADEM officials. The public availability session will be held on November 13, 2025, in Uniontown, Alabama 36786 at the Uniontown City Hall Auditorium located at 200 Front Street beginning at 4:30 p.m. The joint public availability session will continue through the duration of the public hearing to allow the public the opportunity to participate in both forums.
Copies of the complete project files are available at http://app.adem.alabama.gov/eFile/ by entering Master ID 17668 and selecting the appropriate Land and Air Division permit number and by appointment at the following location Monday-Friday, except legal holidays, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. A nominal fee for copying and/or mailing may be charged. Arrangements for copying should be made in advance.

The purpose of the public hearing will be for interested parties to make oral and written comments into the public hearing record. Those wishing to make oral comments at the public hearing are also encouraged to submit those comments in writing. All comments must address the conditions of the proposed permit(s); the Department’s adherence to the applicable environmental laws, rules, and regulations in development of the proposed permit(s); or issues that have an impact on the applicant’s ability to meet applicable environmental laws, rules, and regulations to affect the final permit decision. In order to affect final decisions, comments must offer technically substantial information that is applicable to the proposed permit(s).
Persons wishing to comment may do so, in writing, to the Department's named contact above by 5:00 p.m. on November 25, 2025. Commenters should identify the appropriate permit number(s) on the first page of their comments. If the comments apply to more than one permit, please try to make it clear to which permit each comment applies.
After consideration of all oral and written comments and consideration of the requirements of the Alabama Air Pollution Control Act, the Federal Clean Air Act, the Alabama Solid Wastes & Recyclable Materials Management Act, and all other applicable regulations, the Department will make a final determination on the proposed permits. The Department will develop a response to comments for each permit, which will be posted to the Department’s website at http://app.adem.alabama.gov/eFile/. To find the response to comments and final permit determination, you may search by the permit or facility number listed in this notice.
