NOTICE OF PROPOSED CONSENT ORDER

Fayette County

Pursuant to the provisions of the Alabama Environmental Management Act, the Alabama Department of Environmental Management is proposing to issue a Consent Order to the Town of Glen Allen (PWSID AL0000598), which operates a public water system under Public Water Supply Permit 2016-741, located at 156 AL State Highway 129 in Glen Allen, Fayette County, Alabama.

The violation consisted of failure to comply with the maximum contaminant level for total trihalomethane.

The Department is proposing a civil penalty in the amount of $2,400.00.  The Order, if issued, would require three installment payments of $800.00, the first would be due September 1, 2022 and the final would be due no later than March 1, 2023.

Interested persons may submit written comments, including request for a hearing, within 30 days of the publication date of this notice, to :

The comment period shall end at the close of business 30 days from the publication date of this notice. This notice is hereby given this 13th day of July, 2022, by authorization of the Alabama Department of Environmental Management.
