FOR PROPOSED REVISIONS TO THE HAZARDOUS WASTE PROGRAM
DIVISION 335-1 AND DIVISION 335-14, ADEM ADMINISTRATIVE CODE

Notice is hereby given that a hearing before the Department of Environmental Management of the State of Alabama will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2020, at 9:30 am for the Division 1 Hearing and 10:30 AM for the Division 14 Hearing, both to be held in the Main Hearing Room at the ADEM – Central Office location at 1400 Coliseum Boulevard in Montgomery, to consider proposed revisions to Division 335-1 (General Administration) and Division 335‑14 (Hazardous Waste Program) of the ADEM Administrative Code.
Revisions to Division 1 of the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM) Administrative Code are being proposed to modify and add forms required for the implementation of the Department’s rules and regulations along with correcting typographical errors.  Additional modifications are being proposed to restructure the Hazardous Waste Program fees outlined in Fee Schedule C.  In addition, revisions to the Division 14 Code are being proposed to adopt the Universal Waste Aerosol Cans Rule and to adjust the term length for permits issued to hazardous waste treatment, storage, and/or disposal facilities by the Department.  Revisions to the code are also being proposed to make general clarification and correct typographical or grammatical errors.

Copies of the proposed rules are available at a cost of 30 cents per page at each of the locations listed below.  The summary of reasons supporting the revisions is available free of charge.  Copies of the proposed rules (Division 1) (Division 14) and summary of reasons (Division 1) (Division 14) can also be found on the internet at http://adem.alabama.gov/newsEvents/pubHearings.cnt at no cost. The public hearing is being held to receive data, views, and arguments from interested persons regarding the proposed rules.  Attendance at the hearing is not necessary to present such data, views, arguments, or comments. The same may be submitted in writing, but must be received by the Hearing Officer prior to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 17, 2020.
