NOTICE OF EXTENSION OF COMMENT PERIOD

On May 10, 2017, the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM) published a notice of availability of proposed Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDLs) for various waters and pollutants within the State of Alabama. At the time of the notice, the public was invited to submit comments regarding the proposed TMDLs or to offer new data or information regarding the same in writing by no later than July 10, 2017. Subsequent to the May 10, 2017, notification, ADEM received a request for an extension of the public comment period specifically for the proposed TMDLs in the Black Warrior River Basin. ADEM has given consideration to this request, and has determined that it is appropriate to extend, for a period of sixty (60) days, the opportunity for the public to provide input to ADEM’s final decision concerning the aforementioned TMDLs.
At this time, ADEM is extending the public comment period for the following proposed TMDLs for waters within the State of Alabama.

These TMDLs, to include supporting documents, technical information, data and analyses are available for review during normal business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the ADEM Main Office located at 1400 Coliseum Boulevard, Montgomery, Alabama. Hard copies or electronic copies of the subject documents can be obtained by contacting Ms. Kimberly Minton at 334-271-7826 or email@example.com. Persons wishing to submit comments on the proposed TMDLs or offer new data regarding the same are invited to do so in writing to Ms. Kimberly Minton, Water Division, Alabama Department of Environmental Management, P.O. Box 301463, Montgomery, Alabama 36130-1463 (street address: 1400 Coliseum Boulevard, Montgomery, Alabama 36110-2059). Written comments must be received by the Department prior to 5:00 p.m. on September 8, 2017.
