PROPOSED ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER

Houston County

Pursuant to the provisions of the Alabama Environmental Management Act, the Alabama Department of Environmental Management is proposing to issue an Order to Thomas and McDuffie Enterprises, Inc. for failure to close an unauthorized dump located at 206 West Stough Street in Dothan, Houston County, Alabama.

The violations consisted of Thomas and McDuffie Enterprises, Inc. creating and not properly closing an unauthorized dump. 

The Department is proposing a civil penalty in the amount of $14,500.  The Order, if issued, would require Thomas and McDuffie Enterprises, Inc. to cease and desist the operation of the unauthorized dump, and to submit an abatement plan to the Department.  This plan would require the removal and proper disposal of all regulated wastes, and a schedule for abatement completion.

Interested persons may submit written comments, including a request for a hearing, within 30 days of the publication date of this notice to:

This notice is hereby given this 8th day of August, 2019, by authorization of the Alabama Department of Environmental Management.
